Dell PowerEdge VRTX Brings Enterprise Convergence to Branch and SMB

VRTX resized 600Dell is all about offering solutions that will meet a variety of business needs, from the leading enterprise equipment down to branch offices and small to medium size businesses. Along the way, Dell brings its enterprise-class technology down and makes it accessible to smaller implementations, putting Dell ahead of the competition.

The latest release from Dell, the PowerEdge VRTX, is one example of Dell’s bleeding-edge solutions offered to SMBs. It integrates the best of Dell’s servers, storage and networking, offering a convergence option that will take SMBs by storm.

New Options for SMB and ROBO

Dell recognizes that, up to this point, converged, application-centric infrastructure solutions have primarily been aimed at large enterprises. Unfortunately, most of these solutions prove to be far too complex to fit well in small- or medium-sized businesses or remote or branch offices. That’s where VRTX comes in.

Dell PowerEdge VRTX isn’t aimed at the data center. It’s not simply a data center in a box, either. What it does, however, is provide the small office or remote office with the IT infrastructure it needs while creating a solution that fits well in the smaller environment.

Built for Virtualization

Just because a remote office or a small business has need of 20 or 30 servers doesn’t mean they need 20 or 30 physical servers sitting in the office. Just one to four Dell PowerEdge VRTX servers will have the capacity to host as many as 100 virtual machines.

And, because everything from servers to storage to management and networking are all contained in a single unit, this solution takes up much less valuable floor or rack space and uses considerably fewer cables than a traditional solution.

An Unheard-of Value Prop

This kind of converged, flexible technology hasn’t been available in the SMB or branch office space up until now. While this solution may be out of the range of small businesses, branch offices and SMBs will appreciate the value that the PowerEdge VRTX solutions can bring.

With the PowerEdge VRTX, Dell proves once again why it’s a market leader for affordable solutions that truly fit the needs of all of its customers, from the large enterprise that needs to be able to offer services to its remote offices down to the SMBs that can benefit from this kind of convergence.
